Toshiba HDDVD Players - New Firmware upgrades available

Couldn't see this posted but there are fairly recent firmware upgrades available (June 2008 - version 3) for the following Toshiba HD DVD player models:

HD-EP30 & EP35
HD-E1
HD-XE1
HD-EP10

See http://www.toshibahddvd.co.uk/supportpage_uk.html for details

Thought this might help those who picked up the bargain EP10 & EP30's a few months ago.

Not that easy to get hold of now, although there are a few floating about. Prices did drop to around the 50 quid mark but now seem to be starting at around £140. Amazon has a few used ones or try http://www.pricerunner.co.uk or http://www.dealtime.co.uk and do a search.

Argos have the HD-EP30 in their clearance sale for £100 (only collect at Store). None near me, but might be some available

A matter of personal opinion. You'll get those that back HD DVD and those that'll back Blu Ray. I like many others have both but the big influence at the moment is the cheap price of Hd films as opposed to Blu Ray.

hd dvd is better - the interface is a lot more friendly and the extras on hd dvd are better
plus hd dvds are too cheap to miss and a hd film is a hd film regardless of the disc

Updated mine last night and yes it does take a long time, but follow the instructions carefully you should be alright.

Did you burn the disc image to a CDR?

There's a pdf file showing the update details here: http://www.highdefinitiondvd.eu/media/File/HDDVD_UK_V4_b.pdf
