Touch screens and computers help

I have seen some EPOS systems advertised but the advert is vague, they are advertised as EPOS cash registers with 15" touch screens running hospitality software, how likely is it that I would be able to use one as a touchscreen monitor on a PC?

*EPOS = Electronic point of sale

lol why do you buy so much computer crap! :p

it is quite likely that you could separate the monitor from the pc or if it is an all in one you could run an embedded xp disto or linux on it but it probably wont be pretty.

just note that the screen wont be super accurate as it is usually used to press big buttons on the screen so you wont be doing no pinch to zoom or graphical art on it if that was your plan

crap? the last puter stuff i bought on the cheap was the printers, £3.01 for 2 laser printers was a bargain as they was an easy fix. Gave the photocopier away on freecycle only to see an identical one sell for £200 on ebay doh!

Mind you did once by a box of about 30 keyboards with the ps2 type pc connector thinking thaey was standard pc keyboards only to discover they was for N64's.

The 3 epos systems looks like they may go for less than a tenner anyway so good for a project!
