I got my little girl a little tikes kitchen. They have some on here at a great price. Cannot recommend this company enough as items are fantastic but often reduced stock just because of the packaging or a scuff or 2 http://www.adventuretoys.co.uk/bargains.asp. My son is 1 next month and probably going to get him a little tikes car. This is my 3rd child and I think it is worth buying something sturdy that will get lots of use as they get older at this age instead of buying toddler toys. Maybe a sandpit or a climbing frame. The one from tesco is ideal for this age. Mine loves his

Hmmmm just read it again I'm not sure if you mean your own child or someone elses. If you mean someone elses I would just get a voucher or bath toys. Stay away from clothes unless you are buying a few sizes up.

Really wanted to get a kitchen but all the ones I coul;d find were 3+ because of the small parts. The Little tikes one is 3+ too. Argos have a 18 months + one but it doesnt have the best of reviews. Thanks anyway

use your descretion (get me with big words) my daughter of 4 has the disney princess kitchen and my other daughter who is 1.5 plays with it more than her. They have to put an age limit to cover healthy and safety regulations. Just take out the really small pieces and make sure you put it together well. My youngest also loves pushing a pushchair and small shopping trolley!
