Well im thinking of trading in my ps3 at CEX or GAME etc..

Thing is ive had the console for 3 years and in that time 6months ago or so i had it reparied, the guy who repaired it did say that the problem could return in the future.

My question is if i did trade it and a few weeks or months/year down the line and it did become faulty again would i be liable?

hope somebody can help

Thanks Adam.

I cant see how you could be because the shop should check its working when you give it to them. I know the PS3's have a seal on the side so they will know it has been repaired or modified in some way. why dont you ring a branch up and ask if no one can give you a definite answer.

Just seen above answer. I believe you can sell it on ebay as long as you specify it has been repaired. They even sell faulty ones on there.

if the seal has been broken, they will not allow it as trade in..

Try sicking it on ebay.. and state the seal has been broken and repaired.... just be honest

If you do manage to take it in and successfully trade it, even if it broke the next day you would not be liable.

It is upto the store to check it is fully working before paying out for it.

they buy as seen.... like said above - it could be working fine the day you sell it and the next day go up in a cloud of blue smoke - you ain't liable !

I would be TOTALLY honest about the console, problems and it's history to any prospective buyers. Wether that be a shop or eBay buyer.

It's only fair and at the end of the day an innocent someone is going to end up with a broken console sooner or later.

Cex is crap anyway they will give you bottom money anyway even if they did accept.
