Iam after some advice from you lot, I may need to book two separate train trips, one to Waterloo well Tower Bridge or Greenwich return. I guess Waterloo would be closest. The other a single from Manchester to Cosham.

I live about a mile away from Cosham station in Portsmouth.

Do you think it would be worth while buying a rail card? How much discount do you get? Is national rail enquiries the best site to use? If you buy from NRE do you just print of your ticket?

Appreciate any advice :)

I always use the website for rail tickets. You get the option to get your tickets delivered or from the pick up points at certain stations (i think the website tells you if the station has pick up points or not).

so... two trips...

cosham portsmouth to tower bridge

cosham portsmouth to greenwich.. oh no I see..

Manchester to cosham portsmouth

I'm confused ... lol How will you get to manc from London?

We checked the prices for a train trip to London 2 adults and 2 kids, it worked out cheaper to buy the family and friends discount card at £24 for a year.
Also checked prices on a day trip to York, it will be cheaper to buy singles for the each way journey.

Try these cowboys for the Cosham - Waterloo. It might be cheaper to book from Pompey???

Mobitix Virgin tickets are the cheapest for London-Manchester. Dont run over weekends though.

Me too, we stayed in the Hilton just round the corner from the viking centre. Bless the wannabe vikings walking down the street dressed with all that crap, must be boiling!

You tend to get money off vouchers for it, off the back of your car parking tickets.

Sorry didnt make myself clear. Will be going to London to meet some mates at Tower Bridge, so guess the station closest is London Bridge? Want to get up there by 10-11ish Sun and return in the evening.

Probably only need a trip back from Manc on the 3rd May.

Looking at megatrain they are not very relaxable unfortunately for either journey. But thanks, bookmarked.

Rail cards are well worth the money
