Hey guys. Girlfriend and her family have invited me to go to Florida with them next September. Trouble is, there is 6 of us in total. Wondering if there is any users here who may of recently went to Florida for a holiday and can recommend a hotel or a villa for us.

Am i best to shop about and get the flights and accom seperate, or best to leave it to the likes of Thomas Cook to sort it all out?

edit: Would be looking to be leaving from Glasgow

For a group of 6 I would hire a villa.
Last time i went I did all the parts separately, via the internet (rather than a package deal from a travel agent) - much cheaper! Although it may be worth getting some figures together then seeing if a travel agent is willing to better the price for you.
Don't forget a hire car (and don't let them pressure you at the car hire place into upgrading to a bigger car than you you want - we were told we wouldn't fit the suitcases in to the car we had ordered so we REALLY needed to hire a bigger car & we had to do it now because all the bigger ones would be gone very shortly:whistling:).
And don't forget travel insurance (hopefully you won't need it, but just in case...)
And have a good time!

depends on the time of year, if you are going in September, after the kids go back to school the flights come down quite a bit, also if you have a villa or apartment it is much better as you will have more of a chance of relaxing on your 'days off' from the parks, this is very difficult if you stay in a hotel. flights in general are between £200 and £350, I have actually ben for £79 and £120 at this time of yer just depends on if you get lucky, the villa or apartment would cost you approx £300 per week so between the six of you with separate flights and accommodation it should be in the region of £400 - £450 each for the two weeks, the the car hire which will be a 7 seater, I usually book a 7 seater, even if there is only 4 of us as this is the car I drive here, that should cost approx £400 per week inclusive of all insurance but you may get a deal on that too
Is it this September or next you are going

I think under 25's have a premium everyday so you might want to look into that.

We always go to Florida in a big group and I would defiantely recommend a villa. Shop about and try different places, I wouldn't go with Thomas Cook or anything, think you could get a better deal yourself. Last time we went with Ocean Florida ( I think ) and it was the best, great flights, lovely villa, and the cheapest by far. September is a great time to go as the schools will be back so should be cheaper too

My memory fails me  We have stayed in so many over the years. Normally we go for the Kissimmie Area which is about 10minutes tops from Disney :-D

The last twice weve been we got a Villa off ebay. Quite a few on there are British owned so a simple phone call & can be all sorted.
