OK been having sudden crash dump, blue screen with lots of writing for a while. Intalled a registry cleaner but everyday it seems to find same 14 problems, says if fixes them but there again next day.

Virus scans all OK. Spybot showed 3 trojans but says it can't deal with them because I am not an administrator (I am), also says cannot repair because in use (all progs closed), and hints that it maybe in the memory, so it cannot repair it.

Grateful for any simple, easy to follow suggestions to deal with this

Are you running vista

Was thinking the same thing - OP, you need to right click the program and choose Run as Administrator :)
Yep right click spybot then "run as administrator" This should remove the trojans. In future always run spybot as administrator

Are you running vista

Thanks guys. Did not know you could change admin for specific progs, only ever seen it as users on a computer. Spybot seems to have repaired the trojan. Will see if cured crash dumps

run them in safe mode.
run them in safe mode.

What does this mean? Run what, how
What does this mean? Run what, how

run spybot etc in safe mode. restart the computer into safe mode. more effective that way.
Sorry. I know I am simple when it comes to computers. How do I do this. and do you mean ALWAYS run in safe mode.

Don't know what safe mode is supposed to do
what kind of computer do you have? safe mode kinda allows you to run your anti virus etc and its usually more effective as less processess are started. Its more effective to remove a trojan if its not already running.
What kind of pc do you have? as to boot in safe mode usually requires you to press F12 or similar upon startup.
if that doesn't help, it may be worthwhile posting in a virus help forum, like
i had a virus/spyware issue i couldn't get rid of and they were a big help. now my computer works much better :)
malware bytes download that and run a scan
