trying to leave talktalk?

Hi,

Anyone here had trouble leaving talktalk? My mom is with them for homephone and broardband but wants to move to sky.

When she called them to ask for mer mac code they wouldn't give it to her and said she would have to pay to leave (she signed a 18 month contract but that was 20 months ago now)

I then downloaded a letter from sky's website and we sent that to them but this was 10 days ago and we have had no reply yet.

What do we do next - they won't talk to me because I am not the account holder.

Can't you just get your next provider to sort it out like you do with gas & electric?

There is an offcom code of conduct around mac codes which means the other service provider has to supply the mac code within 5 working days. This is assuming that your not being provided with an LLU service by talk talk

The contract is seperate to this, even if your in contract they should still give you the mac and then hold you to term but as you say your out of contract.

Id ring them up and tell them your aware of the offcom code, which is on offcom's website

I'm not sure but I think talktalk automatically renew your contract, maybe they sent a letter out telling you but it got whizzed by mistake?.

Ive been with them for around 2 1/2 years now and since the first 18 moths contract i have signed no other. They did call just prior to the 18 month running out and asked if i wanted to sign up again but i stated that i did not want to tie myself into another contract so would assess each month.....they never phoned back....

Just talk to a supervisor and if they still refuse tell them you are giving notice and will stop payments as from next date.
