Trying to unlock Samsung f210 (orange)

Can someone please help, I'm trying to unlock mine but no joy...

I followed these instructions:
1. First do a CUSTOM reset: *2767*2878# (star 2767 star 2878 hash)
turn off the phone
2. take out the battery and sim and put wrong network SIM and insert a HALF of it,ie half in and half out and slip the battery in behind it,this is important
so it won't ask for network password and shows "Insert SIM" message.
Now put the battery ,and switch the phone on .(phone shows "Insert SIM" message.)
3.With out turning off the phone push the sim fully in. At this stage the phone is still asking to "Insert SIM"
4. Make a FULL reset by typing: *2767*3855#(star 2767 star 3855 hash)
5. The phone should reboot working with "wrong" sim inside.
6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
(star 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros star 8zeros hash)
7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000#
(hash 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros hash

I have followed each step carefully (especially task 3) but when I push the sim all the in and do the full reset, it reboots still saying invalid sim card.

Any ideas guys?

for a start you cant follow that as the sim sits under the battery, how can you slide it in while the phone is switched on?
Buy an unlock clip form ebay, they run at about £7-8

You can open the battery whilst the phone is still on so there is enough room to squeeze a small screwdriver in to push the sim in all the way. Its a bit tight but can be done.

Any advise anyone? Thanks in advanced.

Wow surprised at that ! What reason did you give ?

I guess orange by default block all new payg phones when sending them out and wait for the customers
to come back and ask for unblocking them and activating the sim.
You just told them what's happened and they should unblock the phone for you after given the imei number. That's what I have been through in the last two days until I read previous posts.

use Free Samsung Tool v4.0.4 it can unlock the f210 with the usb cable
#13
I tried Free Samsung Tool 4.04 but got error message at 75%. Afterwards it froze and nothing unlocked.

Are you sure these are not F210e models ? If they are Samsung Free Tool 4.04 will be of no use.

yes you are exactly right..... that is the normal procedure for all pay as you go phones bought from orange.... thanks

I think you might be getting confused between unblocking (if youve locked your handset by inputting wrong security codes) and network unlocking.
Orange will not unlock the phone to other networks without charging you £20!

I am sure it is f210 that I tried. Have you successfully unlocked one f210 using the Samsung Free tool 4.04?

6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
(star 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros star 8zeros hash)
7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000#
(hash 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros hash

I have used these instructions on a Samsung Tough today and they work a treat.

They are a bit confusing, I didn't get what the half in / half out bit was about, but it just means position the sim so you can slide it in without disconnecting the battery. You lift the battery at the back so the connection is still made and use a screwdriver to push it fully in, then seat the battery again.

How does someone discover something like this? Love it

I got myself one of those unlocking clips of ebay in the end and it unlocked it within 10 seconds! Shame it still has all the orange logos when booting up but hey thats a small price to pay!
