Read this, found it scary...

"The results from a Quinnipiac poll taken early this month, before Mr Trump took office, showed majority support not only for an immigration crackdown but for a “Muslim registry,” an idea the President had also promoted on the campaign trail.

American voters backed suspending immigration from such 'terror prone' countries by 48 to 42, the survey revealed."

Its so weird, Brits banging on about trump. Up in arms in rally's on the street.

Mugabe = Nothing!
Putin = Nothing!
Assad = Nothing!
Hussain = Nothing!
Kim Jong In = Nothing!
Gaddafi = Nothing!
Corbyn = Rally!
Trump = Protest!

Probably the most hypercritical bunch I have ever known and the least knowledgeable too!

Poll meaningless or not, I think there's an indisputable momentum being built up in the US
"Donald Trump is bringing anti-Muslim prejudice into the mainstream"
A majority of Americans support Trump's Muslim travel ban.
2. Americans view Muslims more negatively than members of any other religion.
3. Over 40 percent of Americans admit to feeling prejudice toward Muslims.
4. One-quarter of Americans think a special ID card for Muslims would prevent terrorist attacks.
5. One-third of Americans want the government to keep a closer eye on Muslim citizens.https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/wonk/wp/2016/08/01/donald-trump-is-bringing-anti-muslim-prejudice-into-the-mainstream/?client=safari
So you've deemed one polls data as irrelevant and meaningless and then subsequently quoted information taken from other polls....

I stay in the thread purely for the comedy.

Gollywood it isn't just the idea of s registry for an ethnic minority that scares me, it's the support claimed by the poll, for it!
Would this not revert us back into WW2 days?
There was a registry for Germans, in fact they were interned during WW2 because of the risk they posed to peace, I know you'd be a fan of anything which prevents more terrorism in the name of religion in the West.

Dave surely, no one wants to set s pretext for history to revert itself?
This time the enemy is Islamist terrorists rather than Nazis.
We beat the Nazis, surely you would want the West to beat Islamist terrorism?

A comment I spotted by someone, well worth a share.

"While we all wait for the next Islamic terrorist attack, remember, the vast majority of the followers of the religion of peace who are not terrorists will be getting on with their everyday way of life.

Some will be slitting a fully awake animal's throat whilst praising Allah. Some will be grooming and raping white children as demanded by their book. Some will be calling for the death of homosexuals and rape victims.

Some will be killing their daughters who have brought shame on their families with the inappropriately named 'honour killings'. Some will be sending very young girls abroad to marry old men.

Some will be forcing young girls into FGM.

Some will be trying to ban our dogs from 'their' district.

Some will be forcing halal meat into our food chain.

Some will be buying buildings and turning them into mosques.

Some will be demanding that non-muslim women and children should show no flesh.

Some will be demanding Sharia Law to replace our existing laws.

My point being, we have more to fear from 'moderate' Muslims than we do from the Islamic terrorists.

The 'moderates' are slowly but surely impacting on our lives more than the occasional terror attack. Flowers and candles are placed after an attack but the destruction, and undermining of our culture by these backward thinking Islamofascists are met with no response.

Hopefully, after the rise of right wing political parties in Europe, Australia and the USA, we can finally destroy the political correctness that stops our right to criticise, and fight back against this deadly cult without fear of persecution"

A registry would take about 5 seconds to get ruled unconstitutional, not going to happen.

Stuart, the ban was against Muslim countries. If the registry goes ahead it's against muslims. Can you not see this as the rallying cry ISIS have dreamed of? To destroy ISIS, you take them out, fair means or foul. To incite hatred like this, only strengthens those that hate us.

Will people please stop comparing Trump to Hitler.

Vladimir Putin is the new Hitler (aka Putler)

Trump is the new Mussolini (a fat, incompetent fascist).

With her ambitions to monitor everything everyone in the UK does, this would make May the new Stalin.

Still working on who will be the new Mao.

a registery is no different to a census, the same information should be available, however since these people don't fill in the forms as they are legally bound to do, even here we could benefit from the same restrictions and enforce co-operation or repatriate.

53-41 register immigrants from Muslim countries,
59% to allow illegal immigrants to register as us citizens.

I disagree. Diversity makes us stronger. You demonise those of a particular faith, it is no different to demonisation of Jews by nazis by Germans in Ww2. Have we not learned any better, or are we set upon a road to repeat history by tolerating this?

Shadey, no, I propose taking out ISIS by any means fair or foul. They are a pestilence. Imo they need to be dealt with, severely. But this registry isn't about fear of ISIS, this about the fear of repeating History which lead to the persecution of an entire race in numbers unimaginable. Let's not even start on that journey pls.

But it was OK when Bush tried the exact same thing?
NSEERS
Don't know much about Bush except that he was a war monger and dragged Blair to hell with him
Dont know much about Trump or US politics either and yet, here you are.
Know enough to suggest he's inciting hatred, and he has the power to do it on a scale unimaginable in the modern day era after Hitler. Not saying he's anything as evil, and this is just the start, but it could horribly Pete Tong.
No he isn't. The media is inciting hatred by twisting the facts. The protesters are inciting hatred by blindly following the media.
Who, exactly, are you suggesting hes inciting hatred to?
Stuart, the ban was against Muslim countries. If the registry goes ahead it's against muslims. Can you not see this as the rallying cry ISIS have dreamed of? To destroy ISIS, you take them out, fair means or foul. To incite hatred like this, only strengthens those that hate us.
Wrong. The ban is against countries that happen to have Muslims in them. The Christians, Jews, Buddhists of those countries are also banned.
Stuart, call it what you want, do you think for one minute ISIS and those who support ISIS, the greatest threat to our civilisation since sliced bread, see it that way?
So you're not anti-Trump now, just anti-ISIS?
ISIS will see whatever they want to see because they're terrorists.
Stuart, I'm both. But can you not see that both are inextricably linked? Hear Trumps action as s rallying cry for Isis.
Like ISIS need any sort of rallying cry.

"Lets join ISIS"
"Why?"
"Because it's tuesday"
"Good thinking brother"

How many times are you going to repeat that Islamophobic rant? It was funny the first time but, as a joke, it is beginning to wear a bit thin.
