FAQ When booting your PSP, you have 3 options:
Hold the L button to boot into the Pandora Menu.
Hold R to boot into Recovery.
Do not hold anything to boot normally.
Why does my PSP restart after turning on from stand-by mode?
You must hold the L button, or your PSP restart instead of turning on from where you left of.
Do I have to install the MaxSafe an/or Pandora Extended Menu?
No, you may skip the installation of both. I don't reccomend you installing the Multi-IPL-Loader either if you do not intend to install these.

God knows. It looks way too complicated to me:giggle:

Congratulations you've just made "a bomb" on the internet ;)

Well, a licence to print money until everybody realises you do not have to pay £30+ on eBay for a pre-made 'kit', or £8-ish to send your own battery & memory card off to someone you may never hear from again.

:)

I know there are many guides that are much easier to follow but this lets your battery become a pandora battery and stay like a normal battery at the same time.

What does that actually mean? Genuine question.

well you said it yourself

So thats why i said there are more tutorials on the net that are much easier to follow if you only want the battery to be pandora and not the normal one at the same time.

Basically, there are loads of people charging extortionate amounts of money on ebay for what people can do themselves. A pandora battery and the super dooper memory card that needs to be used with it, takes a bricked PSP and restores it back to 1.5 firmware. So, if your PSP is dead, you can return it to life by using a pandora battery and memory card. It used to be the case that only Sony authorised dealers could do this. Now it's possible to create the battery and memory card yourself (using your own PSP battery and a memory stick). The OP has posted instructions on how to convert your normal PSP battery to a pandora battery and making the memory stick that goes alongside it. It's not illegal to do and has nothing to do with piracy. It's simply a way of making a dead PSP work again. If you look on ebay, bricked PSPs now sell for a lot more money due to it being possible to resurrect them. If you look at sites like psp-hacks.com, you'll see that you are not allowed to ask for or post websites where you can download pirated games or films. Everything on psp-hacks is entirely legal.

Incidentally, it's not illegal to hack the firmware on a PSP. It's your property and if you wish to install a custom firmware, that's entirely up to you. It's not illegal to create a pandora battery, either. It's only piracy when you play pirated games or videos. There are many perfectly legitimate reasons for using custom firmware - homebrew being the most popular one.

i thought by posting this tutorial people will save money, but i dont think it was appriciated... :-(

I appreciated your efforts, jaguark.

I was confused too until prufrock explained it. Maybe you should update the OP and explain what the hell a Pandora Battery is before people jump to conclusions. Nice post though - I had no idea you could do this now. These guys are clever.

When booting your PSP, you have 3 options:
Hold the L button to boot into the Pandora Menu.
Hold R to boot into Recovery.
Do not hold anything to boot normally.
m00nie ^ shows that if all steps followed correctly then you should have 3 options as stated above.

i have lost the link where i found this from but members there said it worked a charm.

thanks for the kind rep prufrock glad you liked it.

Jaguark, this is great!
Do you have a similar recipe for making the "Perfect Pandora's Battery" on a PSP PHAT(I have a 1.5) that can be used on all PSP slims(3.6, 3.7 etc.)?

dont these do that then ? thats what i was confused with as i thought a PHAT battery did them all ?

ive sneaked one of the tin pots psp down now so gona try it one day (before she wraps them up anyway)
#22
I thought the first recipe was creating a PHAT battery via a PHAT PSP and the other one was to make a SLIM battery via a SLIM PSP.
I need to make a SLIM battery via a PHAT PSP.
#23
well ive now got a pandoras battery and files but can i £%^$ get it to work as both, ive downgraded my psp to 1.5 god knows how many times in trying it lol..

step 3 dont seemt to work, teh update file aint no where to be found (there is one all ready on teh card but dont know if that was there all ready)

when i go to run the program i get error 80020001

aaaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhhhh lol..

well at least i got a pandorras battery i guess

worse comes to the worse i can get a new spare battery to use
#24
it kind of works now, it does the 3 options,

Hold the L button to boot into the Pandora Menu.
Hold R to boot into Recovery.
Do not hold anything to boot normally.

but if you boot into pandoras you have to use a normal battery to take it off the pandoras menu as turning it off and on dont reset it.

aslo you have to use the memory card with the special files on for the battery to work on any option..

think il order a new battery to use normally and keep this pandora seperate..

all good fun and experience though..
#25
Chris they call them batteries the 'Universal Pandora Battery' work for both fat and slim psp

guide
This guide is what your looking for i presume.
#26
Thanks Jaguark
#27
i dont need a spare battery do i?

i just need my mates psp phat?
#28
if this tutorial works out 100% for you then you will Need another memory card but you will be able to use the same battery for pandora and normal.
#29
Hi, just made pandora battery and mem stick and using my working psp, then i tried to use it on my old bricked psp. Know its just bricked as i was the one to do it. Have tried starting normal and holding down 1st left then right key but still nothing. Am i doing something wrong or is it just beyond repair.
#30
1- Have you checked if it works on your normal PSP?
2- Does it show options on the normal PSP?
3- Are you holding the L trigger?(to boot to pandora menu)
#31
does anyone know if I get my slim firmware to 3.71 m33-2 ... will it charge via usb ?
