You will need a freeview box for each tv unfortunately.

the ariel the freeview box was connected to, you could check with the housing association because i suppose. how about freesat from sky, if you have a quad lmb all you need is spare boxes

i think he just has one of them plug in ariel booster things,we only have one ariel coax in the house and thats for the main tv so would it mean running coax to each room upstairs to the freeview boxes?
we just use the sky downstairs

If you are receiving freeview through the aerial then it is possible that your area is not yet able to receive freeview channels that way - here in deepest darkest Wales we won't be able to until March next year. If you have a satellite dish then you should be able to pick up channels through a freeview box now.
This link will let you know whether or not you should be able to get freeview (and if not, when):

if you have spare connections on your dish you can use your sky to provide a better freeview than an ariel can offer just buy some old sky boxes from the car boots
