Need help choosing a TV and it HAS to be from COMET, Looking at around the £200-£300 mark, I have 21 to choose from but not sure whats a good deal or not, Whether to get one with a built in DVD player or one without and just use a seperate player, Don't have a clue about whats a good make/model/specs, It's only going to be used to watch TV/dvds and maybe play video games every now and then.

Whatever you buy, make sure it's a Samsung. Best TVs ever in my opinion!

Cue large argument......... lol

I'm gonna be lil miss sensible again and say if you already have a DvD player... why get a TV with one attached.. you'll pay more for it having the DvD attached to it.

Lemme look at the lists xx

As my boyfriend says, if it breaks you need a TV and a DVD player.

Yeah I was thinking that myself plus I have a PS3 still in it's box that I could use as a blu-ray player.

Do you want size?

26 inches for £279.99 Hitachi Digital Tuner with freeview ( however awful contrast ratio )

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/531391/HITACHI-26LD5550U

Nice 22 inch Samsung ( better contrast ratio, still freeview )

LG option..

Not bothered if it's smaller would rather have something with a better picture quality than size of screen.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can someone tell me the height of a 22inch viewable screen? I'm still using an old 24inch TV and am thinking of replacing it, but don't want a narrower screen.

I know it's a bigger TV but isn't the contrast ratio pretty poor 700:1??

22" widescreen is about 12" high and 19" wide.

I think this then...

Gonna have to bite my tongue and say out of that lot the Samsung is the better TV. Only concern would be just the one HDMI connection.

See what other people think too xxxx

sorry my laziness there.... I meant that it still has freeview like the larger TV.

Yes the LG looks good, lets have another look at that.

The LG is only 219 quid... only one HDMI connection again... contrast ratio only 8k:1

The other LG is nice but its out of stock grrrr.

Why Comet only? If it's all right to ask.

Only 1080P set there:

If you're not bothered about that, then I like LG.

Or this one

Bedroom, We have a 21" CRT and it's big enough so not looking for anything much bigger just something with a good picture and not bothered about it having a built in DVD player either.

Yeah ok whatever, depends what you use it for. I'm using mine as my monitor right now, and it would be absolutely horrible if it could only do 720 Eugh.

I'm talking about using it as a TV obviously. Sitting 2 foot or more from a 22" 1080 or 720 tv would show no difference.

whatever! Are you a teenage girl?

fair enough. I'd personally opt for an LG but would check reviews first

Pick one from Argos that's kinda what you're after, take the Argos page it's on into Comet and say "Can you do me a better deal than this?" always works.
