Ain't personally seen one of these in anyone's set-up, so can't comment how good or effective they are. Both my plasma's are set up with proper 5.1 or 7.1 systems but I can understand where you're coming from as the cabling can be a hell of a pain and sometimes look a real mess. :p

The only soundbar that is worth a jolt is the top of the line Yamaha one( approx £1500 from my bad memory). It would be nice if they were as good as a full 5.1 setup.

If you can't face the cable nightmare, how about getting a setup with wreless rears (Superfi sell one), or just get a good 2.1 system.

I remember seeing these things on the Gadget Show...........they were indifferent about them as you have to sit at exactly the right angle and height etc to the mm for it to work properly.

I can't say how good they are, but £50 seems to be a good price
