Got a picture of a bird that is coming back to our garden over the bad weather but not sure what it is.. size of a starling, the markings down its back and over its head show as stripes....

A bit small and the beak is wrong, thanks for trying.... we are swaying towards a meadow pippet but they should not be around at this time of year but it has an injured leg

is it a fieldfare ? had them in my garden last year its looks a BIT like them

Yeah, could be. Similar markings, but bigger, longer legs and beak.

That picture clinches it I think... thanks.
Never seen one before so really nice, its just a shame it has a damaged leg and was struggling to feed.

Looks like a pipit, most likely a meadow pipit but leg colour isn't clear enough. Does that help?

That my friend is what is known as a "wee brown bird", an avian creature with feathers.
