Two accounts on one IP?

OK, we all know the reason multiple accounts are not allowed. We also know how easy it is for Mods to "find out" users who ignore this rule. But something that occured to me could easily be overlooked and an unwarrented ban handed out!

So if "mrs guv" wanted to join, would that mean we would both get banned as suspect multiple account users?

Its a hyperthetical question (since the missus wouldnt want to post), but Im sure that applies to some members - and it certainly wouldn't be a appropriate to share one account by two people!

i dont know but i dont see no reason why it shouldnt be ok, as long as they use two different emails and the details are different i dont see a problem there best to ask a mod and see what they say. ogame used to be funny i cant use my account as my bf got his acount and he uses it so if i log in to my one and hes logged on he will get banned and so will i

Wasn't there someone on here who's "flatmate" posted, there was a mad thread about it, when on for ages defending each other.......sure they got banned, can't remember, too lazy to search :)

It also begs the question when posting from work! The company I work for will definately have other users here (though I havent a clue who they might be!) I'm fairly sure they would show up as the same IP address as me, though there may be an extra node added to indicate the machine it came from. Might be completely wrong on that last bit!

As long as they are not posting on each others boards in sale/trade area etc, or trying to enter the current competition, then I dont see what the problem would be.

There was a problem when somones 'flatmate' joined, but that was to do with the sale/trade area if I remember rightly.

I know a few people who have at least two accounts at their home but are clearly different people. I think as long as your clearly an individual then its fine. Alternitivly you could just drop a mod a line explaining.

Probably wise advice, though I'm not so sure *all* mods would know who is who at any given time and not act on instinct of a "gotcha"! Anyway - I was just highlighting a potential gloop in IP logging. I'm posting from home on a fixed IP ATM, but do post also from work and also from my mobile. The work one will be shared by countless users I would think - and the mobile is dynamic - so sure also this will have been used by someone else at some point in time.

No... I got points on my account for my brother creating an account. And his account got banned.
Watch out for julietbravo. He/She is the behaviour mod. What's that got to do with behaviour?

Which proves the question is quite relivant!

So your brothers account is still banned? Have you explained all to the mods and its not been corrected?

Yeh I got banned for relisting an item within a week (won't go into details, but it wasn't an item that was banned in the original thread)... I had already taken payment for one of the items, and was banned before I got their address...

So I asked one of my housemates James (There are 6 of us, as @ uni)... to sign up and get their details and basically just apologise to the person buying off of me. Then he got banned as well.

Funny old world... but it's over now.

make as many accounts you want as alot of the time people's ip's change anyway, what about if your a family with different accounts, on same pc.

ive had this problem too,on another forums site. although i didnt get banned, they locked all my threads and lots of different mods kept messaging me demanding answers. my boyfriend had to answer them several times.

also we both had accounts with fleabay, but we, and my bro too, all got indefinately banned coz fleabay reckins were all the same people coz we using the same ip address! since then ive hated fleabay and wont use it again!

I think the line is 'Use the contact us option and let us know in advance'

If Mrs Guv would like to join then please get in touch and let us know of the username. We'll then post in the notes of the accounts to avoid further confusion.

We'd only allow one account per household to trade in FS/FT.

Hope that helps. :)
