Ubisoft launches Uplay app

iPhone application allows players to unlock in-game rewards

Ubisoft has launched its online rewards service Uplay on iPhone in the form of a new app.

Players can download the service for free and earn action points to unlock in-game extras, read expert guides, share content with friends and edit their user profiles.

Uplay originally launched as an in-game service last year alongside the release of Assassin’s Creed II, and rewarded players points for in-game actions. These points can be spent on new characters, locations, areas and more.

Uplay is also compatible in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and offers a host of multiplayer extras.

In the coming months Ubisoft will also add extra features to the iPhone app. Uplay Share will allow players to keep track of friends and taunt opponents, while Uplay Shop will offer DLC at discount rates.

Ubisoft previously said its Uplay service runs alongside Xbox Live and PSN rather than compete with them.
