I'd be interested to hear details, how did they get in? What did they steal etc?
I do wonder if I'm running out of luck :)

No council estates on there?, not because they don't get robbed because nobody has insurance.

Same as crime figures that way, only what is reported/claimed

Surprised by some of those, used to live in west yorkshire and apperley bridge in Bradford is not actually in Bradford and the places in the city would be loads higher.... same as Roundhay in leeds, there are much much worst areas in leeds!

My area is not on there :)
Got burgled back in May in broad daylight thank god the next door neighbour disturbed them, they filled the refuse bins with my belongings had the plasma on the rear lawn, done a runner when my neighbours spotted them & shouted at them, they got away with a few things but luckily they didn't get away with it all, it was a group of teenagers, they left plenty of finger prints behind & 1 of them is still spending time in prison!

Nicer area's seem to have more home insurance. Thats where they've got the stats from. The survey is bull. They should go on police statistics.

Kicked the back door in (neighbours didn't hear a thing) and took all the usual i.e. Tv, video ,dvd etc. Pretty much same at Forest Gate except used kitchen window.

I wonder if being double glazed makes any difference whatsoever given they have security measures like locking windows and opening only a certain amount, my old and new house both DG'd parents did have habit of leaving lights on, radio on though and we all "level up" the handle when closing outside doors to engage the three door deadbolts out of habit which I adopted.

My view is alot of those are crimes of opportunity where windows are left open etc, exploiting peoples Darwinisms.
Shame Home Insurance doesn't have a no claims bonus and we have to subsidise the careless and ditzy.

Where I used to live the London Boroughs and post codes changed for the next road up! This also resulted in the insurance going up more than 10% due to the burglary risk. The same was for car insurance due to TDA problems!
