Strange that the website still states that they will offer £340 and I can post it off with this but I just don't trust the company. They strike me as someone who will come back with a low ball offer.

They have no contact number so it's not like you can ring ahead and check that it is a product they are interested in. I went to the store despite my better judgement, not close by, requires paid parking but needed the money so I went.

I don't want to go to other local CEX and check if they are interested and be sent on a wild goose chase.

The fact that these are sold out most places I would of thought this would be the kind of product they would be interested in.

Haven't people been getting them on deals, then profiteering by selling to Cex? I assume they are losing too much money on them, so stopped buying.
You just got to the party too late it seems.
Dunno, best I've seen is £325, seems like a lot of faff for £15,

Now I know you're not new here....this is the place where people will drive 50 miles so they can save 5p on a can of beans :{

Cheapest I've seen listed on here for was £332 . To drive to CEX pay to park to make £8 would be a bit much!
I dont mind them rejecting. But they should should have some online checker.
Usually if supply outweighs demand they lower the price. They dont just take one at a higher price.
Maybe im just in a bad mood.

Why not keep the PVR? Or list it on the For Sale section here, so people can offer you £100 and make out they're doing you a favour.

Stand outside a game store and offer a psvr demo for £14 a go.
You only need to do it 25 times and you beat the Cex buy in price, and get to keep the psvr too

What about the eye herpes, tho?

I've heard if they already have one in stock in that shop, they won't take any more. I don't know if that is what happened here?

Take them to Cash Converters, who price match with CEX.

I got done this weekend. Bought a PS4 bundle and the boxed console trade in value was £189 all week. When I took it in on Sat, it dropped to £165. CC agreed to £180.

Reckon you'd be lucky to get £100 for a PVR.

They do in my nearest one. As stated. I got £180 from them for a boxed ps4 slim whereas CEX were offering £165.
CC also have me £33 each for Fifa 17 and Mafia 3 whereas CEX were offering £32.

They definitely don't on games where I am, they laughed me out of the shop when I asked them to match a game price. Never tried with hardware though.

cex where offering £420 cash at launch!! a couple of cex's refused to buy it off me because off to much stock. It ended up a bit of goose chase trying to find a cex that will buy it!!

As others have said it'll be down to the store having too many in stock. Check the website for PSVR, put your postcode in the little box and it'll tell you which stores close to you have stock as well as how many they've got. Take it to the one with the lowest number.

Did you ask why they weren't taking them?

I see they actually have a listing for them now online - up until a few days ago there wasn't one, so that would have did them no favours shifting stock

Anyone noticed the attitudes from the staff at CEX & Game, its main reason I do not go in..

They act very distant, any conversation about gaming is treated as you are not capable of having that conversation, they are very unwilling to help and its by far the worst customer interaction I experience in any retail store, with PC World a close second for misinformation..

Its got a to be a contributing factor to why they are failing, their stores are not very inviting at all anymore, i used to love having a chat in indie stores, even game back in the 90's was brilliant, very sad.

surely they can be sold for more by yourself VR tech is expensive and hasn't got a cheap enough price point for masses of individuals to buy I don't blame CEX if they have one or two in stock I wouldn't be taking a third if it was my shop lol

I can't agree fully.

Cex staff are more about get you in the queue get you out the store ASAP.

Game, there's been times I've stood about chatting to someone behind the till on a quiet day about theirs and my own favourite games.

Brighton store the guy spoke to me and a friend for 40+ minutes about overwatch.

Game Erith (London), long chat to the guy behind the till about Destiny and other up and coming releases.

And Bexleyheath has some good staff members who can stand about chatting.

There are more bad amongst the good though. Show a slight interest in a collectors box (reduced cost) behind the till they turn into a used car salesman. Can't accept a "no", some of the most awkward moments I've had in game is based on a collectors box and a 50/50 choice on if I want it for the figure or should I actually save my money.

People are hired on their credentials not on their knowledge base of the product/products at hand imo most CEX & Games I go in to I know more than they do seemingly.

Game have a much better customer service, you can get in contact with stores compared to cex.

Ring their help number and explain which store and they can either pass you through or give you the number.

Or use the game live chat and ask for store number.

Ah just seen on their site that they exclude cash on the price match. Odd, the few stores I've gone to they've given me the price match for cash. Either it's changed or they were miss informed.

"WE WON'T BE BEATEN ON TRADE-INS
GAME won't be beaten on Trade-Ins, and you can be sure you'll always get the best deal with us.

We will honour our Trade-In Price Promise to match the trade-in price of other high street competitors. These competitors must be within a 1 mile radius of your GAME store, and the price valid within a 24 hour period. And if you actually find a better deal with another retailer, we'll beat that by £1!

Remember, the more games you trade, the more you can save against new games by building up your trade-in credit. And if there's a new release you want but you haven't traded-in yet, you can simply trade in your games as part of the purchase with no need for separate transactions - or separate queues.

Standard Trade-In Terms and Conditions apply.*

This offer is only applicable in GAME stores

Ask in-store for further details.

*We'll beat any offer by £1 only applicable to in store trade-in credit, cash excluded.

*Terms and Conditions: GAME stores will beat any trade-in price offered to the general public by a local competitor by £1 within a one mile radius and within a 24 hour period. This excludes trade in prices offered via email or online. Proof must be provided from a local competitor. Trade-In offers are open to members of the public only and GAME reserves the right to refuse any offer to anyone believed to be representing a trade buyer. The trade-in price match cannot be used in conjunction with any other trade-in offer. The Managers Decision is final."
