Hi all, I recently purchased an Nokia 5800 (not received yet) which is locked to T-Mobile and I want to use 02.

I was wondering if people can recommend a particular service to unlock it/have any further information. Also it seems that T-Mobile may sell you the code, does anyone know if that is the case? Basically any help or advice would be great. Thank you!

It is possible to get it unlocked. It is just that there are many sites out there.

Yes, just typed it into ebay and 15 items popped up, one being 390061296344

Hi, thanks i will give them a call tomorrow. I suspect that they unlock it with a cable and apparently that voids ones warranty - but unlocking it with a code does not. Thank you for your help

okay i bought mine months ago - exactly the same way you have. Bought it on t-mobile and wanted to unlock it for use on O2.

I searched all options:
T-mobile said they would do it for a £20 fee
I looked on internet sites which quoted around £15 - £20 with some requiring you to send the phone to them (i would never use this option)
Get it unlocked at local phone shop: Quoted £10, £15 and £20.

So the cheapest and best option for me was to get it unlocked at a local shop.

Thank you both. Very helpful. I suspect that I will call T-Mobile for the lack of hassle and no question marks over the warranty
