Next term i'm hoping to do a BTEC in either IT or Interactive Media.
BTEC IT hopefully will lead to a degree in computer science
BTEC Interactive media will hopefilly lead to degree in games techology.

Just wondering which would you do? Or what has the better aspects?

Go with IT, a media course is not that bebeficial in the long run (and there rather annoying)

Ive almost completed my it btec. Only have 4 hours left of the 2nd 10 hour exam to do then thats that over and done with. I seemed to do well the first year but this year has been a struggle as I used all of my motivation on the first. Plus I hate all the programming that we had to do. Thats part of the reason im not going to Uni. Didnt realise most of the uni course was programming.

If you want to do lots of Programming go the IT route.
If you want to a lot more programming and lots of difficult maths, do the one that leads to Games Technology.

You do maths and programming in both, but Games tech is a lot harder i have heard.
#6
Thanks guys :)

Means alot.

I'm swaying to the IT route.
#7
what are your plans after Btec? uni?

merit = good

So you would highly recommend BTEC IT?
#28
oh yes, its not just doing one thing, its a mixture to keep anyone interested

for example

i have built an online myspace style web page

built a version of minesweeper

built 3 servers & set them up with apache & done basic upgrades

thats just in first year

#35
Okay.

Do you know what it's called?
because we did a pc based test in english last year and i passed.
#36
no idea, i dont pay that much attention :p
#37
Okay :D

Well I know it was Adult Literacy Level 2

I passsed it.
#38
you should pass their test easy
#39
IT is limited to computer obv Media and New media has so many more possiblities!
#40
I would go for the "Game Technology" as its a new subject and very interesting, as at my Uni I seen them building games and looks smart and the Uni won a competition which included all the Uni's in England in building a game and think its going to be used on X-Box (its one of those arcade games). IT is a good subject but more graduates and less jobs!!
