***Update*** Advice please, comet and free blu ray player

I paid for a new tv from comet on 24/12 for delivery tmrw
I placed the order by phone using 30% voucher
they have just phoned me saying blu ray player which was free with the tv is out of stock.
Now they want me to cancel the order or just settle for the tv tmrw.
They wont sort out a different blu ray player.

Any ideas

ADvice please

Worth mentioning that they said I can delay delivery and wait for blu ray to appear in stock

although I told her i had sold my tv as new one meant to be delivered tmrw

she didn't care

they don't know if player will come back in stock

Legally because it was 'free' they shouldn't discount the price any further and can't offer you another one unless you pay full whack..

That's what I was affraid of.
Although I wasn't told at time of purchase, I wasn't referred to terms and condition online

Still doesn't get away from awful customer service, they must of known it was low in stock

I've taken a day off work for delivery tmrw, if they would of told me early this week I wouldn't of had to.

Any chance they are lying as I got it for such a good price with the code?

Check if th eplayer is in stock to see if they are telling lies. If its for sale at a nearby store you can try and offer to collect it.

Hahaha..... Excellent stuff

Just make sure you get all the names, times and relevant details in case you need to take if further.

I suspect the real reason is the use of the code and they'e just trying to recoup the money by being difficult and attempting to break a legally binding contract.

After spending near half hour on the phone (their charge) we have an outcome.

TV is going to be delivered tmrw, then the lady said the next batch of blu ray players has no delivery date to warehouse and cant guarantee i can have one.

So i pulled out my line... "i managed to reserve one" after talking with her superior shes going to arrange it with the store to let me pick it up free of charge tmrw :)

Success apart from the little bit of travelling.

Nope now its a result.

Missus is gonna get it after work as its closer to her :-D

Might go along with her i suppose, just in case any problems.......

Or just phone the store before she gets there and make sure its clear whats happening :santa:
