Just a thought but my sons explorer group clean the seats at their local rugby stadium before each home game. They do a block each time and get to watch the match afterwards for free. Might sound like hard work but actually they have a great time doing it. Thay also get freebies and donations from the sponsors. Jaguar have just brought them 18 tents. Could be worth contacting some of your local sporting venues to see if they would be interested in your group doing the same sort of thing. They also do bag packing sessions at some of the local supermarkets and they have a collection box for donations from customers in return for helping to pack and carry their bags.

Our school often does a stall with Rich Tea biscuits, and the children sit and ice them and add a few sprinkles and sweets (i.e. smarties) - for something like 30p each.

The children love making them and I'm sure there is a profit in there -

Not much preparation to do, and something different for the coffee mornings.

I wonder if you have a cake shop locally?

I wonder if the manager might loan you some different shape tins for free - and the shop could have free adverts in the church newsletters
