Hi all ive been thinking about Upgrading my pc as its a few years old. I only have a budget of around £200 but i can stretch it just a little!! I was after some advice on what i can upgrade to as this is my first time.

This is my current spec

4Gb Ram
nVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
256 MB
Asus M2V Motherboard
Corsair VX450W 450 Watt PSU

any advice ? i was looking to upgrade my Cpu & Gpu to
AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition (but im not sure my mobo supports it) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/155158

I wish my PC was as powerful :)

Unless you are into games, I'd leave it.
Yeah im into games want my pc ready for Empire Total War :)
i would upgrade the graphics card to the 8800GT or the 9600 GT, you will need a more powerful psu too.... 550w+

that should play it quite well
To be honest, for £200, you ain't going to improve much on what you've already got.

I've just recently upraded from AMD3200 processor to Quad Core 2.4ghz Q6600, 4gb Crucial fast memory, 512MB Asus 3650 gfx card, Asus P5Q Deluxe motherboard, 550watt PSU (WinXP-64bit) etc.. which cost over £400 to put together.

Is it £400 quicker than my old system? - Video editing definitly. Everything else - I can't say that you'd notice.

A complete re-format and re-install on your old system will probably give you as much of a performance boost and save you some £'s.
Its mainly a Gpu update that i need so might aswell update the Cpu whilst ive got a bit of cash one of my mates says i should just go for a Athlon 64 X2 5000+ black edition as you can overclock it to 3.2ghz
