URGENT ADVICE NEEDED REA CAR!

guys i need your help. I got my car (ford) was just serviced 6 weeks ago and they said there was no problems. now today i was driving and my brakes completely went. it was really lucky i wasnt on a motorway. i called rac who told me that the flexi pipe had been rubbing off the hub and suggested (as they are not allowed to make statements) that this should have been picked up when it was serviced. He advised me to take pictures. My brakes were completely gone.

What are my rights? Can i prove it was faulty 6 weeks ago? Would they have to repair it? i've already had numerous problems with this garage (left me waiting til 9am to 4pm when it should have been ready at 430pm. charged me £50 for telling me information i had already given them, gave me no paperwork and when i first bought my brand new car i had to get another one as someone had been smoking in my car and had left fags ends in the ashtray! i only go to this garage to get it serviced because ive got free servicing for life.

It wasnt a dealers in mansfield was it? lol. First off you should consider yourself lucky, but if by the sounds of it its occured due to something that should have been picked up on a service then make complaints, to the garage, to trading standards and anyone who will listen, if they are a main dealers complain to ford too as garages like this reflect badly on them too and they dont like it. Insist they carry out the repair gratis, although personally i wouldnt trust them and would go somewhere else. Make a list of what you want out of this and how you will get it. If the garage will not act on your complaint MAKE them listen stand outside and tell all potential customers the truth about what service is like after the sale, stick to the truth though dont embellish it as it can go badly against you.
We recently had hassle with a Renault main dealers after buying a new scenic, upto the sale they returned calls promptly acted 110% professionally, after picking up the car it went down hill fast calls never returned, faults with car never acknowledged etc etc, In the end
we got renault involved and even they had trouble with the garage not returning calls. Renault have now told them to buck their ideas up or they will lose their dealership rights as a main dealer.

Make the decision as to what you would like and stick to your guns!

I think it would be difficult to prove that the fault was there 6 weeks ago.
I suggest you explain to the manager where you had it serviced and see if he can help you out.

Even if you don't get anywhere it might prompt the garage to be more vigilant next time.

It may cost you your life, but at least it's free.

Maybe it's free servicing for the rest of the life of the OP.
