If you wanted to go through ebay, just end your auction and start a buy-it-now. I think thats what you mean?
#2
Yeh I wanted to do that, but this person had contacted me with a b.i.n price. I was thinking that, but theres a possibility that a different user may steal the price?

if you complete the sale without the safety of the auction or setting up a buy it now, you will loose all protection from ebay, i would end the auction and se up a buy it now and email them the item number, i would also check their feedback/history first :)

I agree

How many days has your item got left?

if its something like a mobile watch out for the scams that are around :)

NOpe, Im seling X Factor Tickets. Theres 13 hours left. The potential buyers F/B seems genuine!

Is it possible for me to add a ridiculous buy it now price, comment that its been sold, and ask the buyer to just pay me the asking price?

Thanks for help so far guys
#7
why would you want to add a ridiculous price? if its a silly amount, you will get charged a higher final value fee
#8
So the buyer that actually contacted me can press the buy it now button and send me the correct amount. Im just afraid that if I put the buy it now on, someone else could snap it up!

You know what I mean?
#9
yeah but like i said you will be charged a final value fee and a buy it now fee dependent on what price you sell at, so the higher you list, the higher your fees will be
#10
O right, I didnt know that, first time selling.

Still have a problem though.

mabe dino will have a suggestion?

i think just list it as a buy it now, but tell your buyer to be quick, if someone else snaps it up, you'll still get your money but its them that loose out :(
#12
How much are you selling for?? You could always request a payment through PayPal, as 'Goods'. All you pay is PayPal fees then. HTH

Thats what I was planning, Ive message the seller and waiting for her to come online!

But while I wait, I'll have to hope there will still be no bids else I'll cancel on people! There are quite a few watchers...

Or list the auction in a complete different category. In the listing, put the buyers username, and the amount that they will pay.
You may get away with putting the price at half of what they are offering, then the other half of the price can be put in P&P.

It depends how much you trust the buyer, what little 'protection' ebay and paypal 'offer'! Anyway, if you list a buy it now, set a time with the buyer and send the link your given after completing the listing. It will show on that link straight away, but won't appear on the site for a couple of hours. I have known it to be over 6 hours before appearing on the main site.

Ive had an offer of £120.

And Im not quite sure what you mean here? Are you suggesting I end the auction and then asking her to send money?

Basically, yea. Just go through PayPal. I think the person to ask is Dino. He knows his stuff!

If it has 13 hours to run, I would leave it.
If you end the auction you will lose your listing fees and how do you know for sure this buyer will buy the tickets?
I hope you are sending them by Special Delivery WITH enhanced Insurance.

Yup I would be sending via Special Delivery :) Ive even offered a personal delivery service if anything gets delayed :)

Also shes gota be genuine as the shows on Sunday!

I really want to accept the offer, as these tickets are kinda unpredictable in terms of sale. Ive been watching auctions to see how much they go, and one went for 80 for great seats, and one went 140 for similar seats!!

This would count as circumventing fees, which is against eBays terms. As is arranging a sale on eBay that's completed off site.
