If you use any useful FireFox extensions, please post in here to let us know about them. Links would be very helpful as well.

A friend told me about this last week, I have installed it on my computers and I quite like it. It's called FlashBlock, and it is an add-on for Firefox which stops all the annoying flash ads from playing automatically when you go to a web page.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433 Download it here...

The only drawback is that it stops some from playing, e.g. if you are looking at youtube or something, but you just have to click on a "play" button to view the vid.

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

Do you want to give a brief explanation? As I have no idea, or maybe links to them? I can change this to be a FF extensions thread instead of just the flashblocker.

So anyone got any recommendations?

I use the auto-fill feature on the google taskbar add-on

Also just go a great one. Everyone time you press the stop button it says "STOP....HAMMERTIME!" I love it haha

Almost forgot the most important add-on that everyone firefox user should have. STUMBLE UPON!!

NoScript and forecastfox are 2 of my favs

NoScript for pre-emptively blocks suspected malicious scripts and allows JavaScript, Java and other potentially dangerous content only from sites you trust. You can alter the settings but i find it useful to know what the pages i go to are doing.

forecast fox is just a cool wee tool that gives you the weather now and for the next few days in your location on the bottom toolbar

At the moment I use:
[LIST]
[*]Tabmix Plus, cos regular tabs just aren't flexible enough.
[*]Web Developer Toolbar, the handiest thing in the world for anyone doing any web design/development.
[*]FasterFox, it makes stuff faster mostly by pre-caching links in the background so don't use it if you have a sys admin you might pee off.
[*]Firebug, more web development goodness.
[*]IE Tab, IE in Firefox for those occasions when some idiot wrote IE only code on a site.
[*]FireFTP, very handy little FTP program.
