Users from the same IP?

  I think what you should have done is to contact the mods before creating multiple accounts on the same IP.

  it didnt occur to me, as you can see i've had my account a fair while now, and he has had (or did have) his longer.
  
  I cant see how being from the same IP means a ban, its a bit harsh. as i said, there are 1000 PCs where i work, and there must be loads of people who go on here at work!

  they should be able to see a log of where we have logged on from, so my home IP and his home IP would have come up.

  Hi Hun - me and my other half are on here-but i'd seen posts about problems before-so when i got feed up of my OH using my details i emailed and asked if he could join as we would use the same ip address - the mods were really helpful and said he should email when he joins to let them know and they owuld make a note we used the same address-but we were not to post or add heat etc to each others posts - which i think is fair enough.
  maybe if you contact them and explain they can sort it out and do a similar thing for you.

  on the contrary I thought the same as debz but assumed the OP had just got it mixed up, had they been using the same username it would have been clearer why they were banned.

  i message the mod politely when we realised what had happend (well, after the ban, as i couldnt get to my PMs - what a waste of time). They said that they couldnt help, and i had to use the 'Contact Us' button, which we both have, and havent heard anything back.

  But it was abit of a giveaway reading further down.
  
  He was permanently banned, and i was banned for 24 hrs. apparently because we are the same person.
  
  There must be other people on here sharing IPs?!

  thats the best bit, this is what i did, and got reffered to a "Contact Us" page. its as bad as the bloody indian call centres :x

  A little much, to say the least. There's a line between practicality and moderation that any forum should not cross, and this is most certain well over the line.

  Not in this case as it's different,but if someone is shown to be using a multi ID why aren't they both banned permanently.
  
  It's like giving them a slap on the wrist and an open invitation to do it again.
