We've got 2 homeplugs running at the moment, just some cheap unbranded ones we got ages ago. However I want to add at least 2 more to the network upstairs (router is downstairs)

Can I buy two homeplugs of a different brand or do they have to be all the same make and model?

They can be different makes as long as they belong to the same standard e.g. Home plug 1.0 or Homeplug AV. I have Ebuyer Values working with Zyxel and Philips all on the same network.
