Using a courier to post to Ireland

Hi, didn't know if this was the right section, so apologies if it's not

I sold an amp on ebay, however the winner was from Ireland, I normally use DHL's 48 hour service for £6.99, but have little idea on whom to use posting to Ireland, as I've never had to do it before

So just wanted some advice on posting a biggish item to Ireland, as I'm guessing prices are going to be increased, and it will take longer to get there

Thanks in advance for any replies

I think you should stick with DHL. You ought to be able to calculate the cost online. http://www.dhl.co.uk/publish/gb/en.high.html

I had a similar situation with someone from Jersey. You need to contact the buyer and explain quoted postage is to mainland UK only. Ireland is not UK - even Northern Ireland is not mainland UK and couriers charge more for this. If the buyer wants the item they will pay for the correct postage.
