Using mobile whilst driving

Apparently the number of people using mobile phones while driving is rising. I am shamed to say that I have been a victim of it from time to time (sshhh).
Although I'm not condoning the usage, I have been in much more 'challenging/dangerous' situations whilst behind the wheel which do not involve the phone.
Such as:
- Trying to eat a piece of fruit (most likely a banana or a juicy peach)
- Trying to change settings on my GPS

Can you think of any other situations that are much more dangerous? (clean responses only :) )

The problem with using a mobile while driving is that you tend to "zone out" and you focus on the call even if you use hands free. We have just been told by our company that we must switch of our phones while driving and thats a problem for us as we spend at least 6 hours a day in the car. I have seen women putting on makeup while driving though:?

just speaking to a passenger requires the same concentration imo.

eating a meatball subway one handed whilst doing 80 on a motorway requires skill.

trying to take off your coat/jacket and knowing that you really should have done it before you started your journey...and that you really should pull over to do it now...but still continue to struggle nearly running over the old lady on the crossing and hitting the kerb a few times....oh what a dangerous life i live...LOL

I guess i'm both.
Even gtting the phone is quite tricky. Trying to get it out of the pocket...and those bleeding seat belts do not give you any leaway. They just jam prompting you to pull harder and they are even more stubborn.

From QI- Spiders haven't killed anyone as the result of a bite in Australia since the 70s. They have killed people who were driving.

i actually had a crash as a large spider dropped from the sunvisor to stare me in the face,
as i took my hand of the steering to brush it away the wheel got caught in a soft verge and dragged me into a tree, luckily i was only doing bout 30 and the tree was small and bendy
i mean wth has 8 legs, spiders they just so wrong..
