ok so i wana use my tesco vouchers. only got about 250 ish.

4 merlin passes cost £160 in vouchers (2 adults and a 7 and 4 yr old) we have a 9 month old as well who i assume is free. but then how much use can we get out of it if we gotta baby as well..iykwim. however on the flipside it does mean we might make more effort to get out and about

vs

laptop..my laptop is knackered and i wana vaio...there is one on there for just under £500...prob be better to get a different make whic is better but vaio's look cool. and im sick of my fujitsu siemens which lasts 5minutes when not plugged in...no joke! but then thats not fun is it.....

what to do people of hukd!?

I got my merlin pass with my vouchers last year & its been brilliant, with two kids under 4 and living only a 20 minute drive from alton towers I went about 30 times. the kids love it, we treat it like our local park & it gets you out and about with the kids.. unlike a laptop :)

Often cheaper Merlin pass deals available through the year (usually just after Xmas). They reduce the price if you buy online. If you can wait for the deals and can afford to pay a lump sum in cash - usually works out cheaper.

we live in kent. nearest is chessington over an hour away.

i thik if i lived nearer anything it be worth it but everything we use will have to be a day trip and more then anything with little one its not gonna be easy plus can only go in the holidays and it will be packed. im going towards the vaio!

You have Chessington, Thorpe and lego (plus london eye, dungeon and aquarium) all relatively close, but.......

When we had ours, we used it once for london eye and aquarium, Thorpe Park and Alton Towers once and twice for lego and chessington. And now you cant use it in August! (So we wouldnt have used it at all!)

That said the Tesco thing is a good deal!

We gave ours up after one year.... just wasnt worth it.

Thanks! Yours too.

As Guv said - there are restrictions on the London based venues in August. But that doesn't apply to them all.
However, we've had them for around 3 years now and find that Madame Tussauds and the Dungeons are not that interesting more than once a year. The Eye and Aquarium are more fun when you're in London already, but it was Thorpe Park and Chessington we were maxing out on the cards with. Never visited the Seal Sanctuary, Alton Towers, Lego Land or Warwick Castle since we had them.
As we live in London, it's the cheapest way to entertain/join family and friends that want to do the touristy thing when they visit.
If you are only going to be making the most out of them with Chessington - then maybe you should wait for their annual pass offers. Again - usually once a year they're reduced or BOGOF. You'll have to be good at checking often.

Hmmm... Maybe theyve changed it again. Definitely when our renewal came through and "offer" to rejoin you couldn't. Maybe they have tiered the tickets now so August can be included for more bunce. Ours were a good deal at the time... £320 for all four of us. (We even had a spare card FOC)

guys i changed my mind again...... going with the merlin passes. spoke to hubby and hes like a laptop we can always justify buying but wed never buy a merlin pass even if it was BOGOF......hopefully we are motivated and get out the door now.

i will bug him for the vaio in the mean time.... keep my eyes peeled for good deals!!
