My car dealer has tried to up the VAT on the second new car being delivered in January. Fortunately he's been influenced to waiver the hike (or more to the point, pay the hike on my behalf.) What a con though... damn thing was ordered on 23 October! Hardly my fault they are popular cars that everyone wants and they cant make them quick enough!

Depends if you think the item you want will be reduced by more than 2.5%* in the Sales :-D

* I know it isn't exactly 2.5%, but you know what I mean.

Might be one of the reasons why there trying to push the sales now, because they are going to get less customers new year.

They werent going to...... I had to go to the top! Only a couple of hundred quid more, but considering they've already increased their price on 1July, 8 August and unbelievably again on 16 November (the last one I avoided though)...I'm wondering who the hell will be buying the cars once the VAT does go up and scrappage is out the window!

I'm gonna stock up on all my fresh food, baby clothes and books now. I'm far too smart; they aint gonna get 2.5% more outta me!!!

did many places reduce the VAT in the first place? The ones who didn't would probably stick their prices up too

Does this mean that nothing in the Pound shops will be a pound anymore, or does it mean that they will just take a cut in profits I wonder.... :p

Although if they were pound shops before the cut, does that mean that by NOT making everything slightly less than a pound they have all been overcharging us since then.... ? - lol

You won't notice the change in price, well I won't...
