well done - what model was that??

I managed to get a Vax ex display upright rapide deluxe carpet cleaner for £15 (normally £150) and I was well chuffed with that. So much so that I've done the carpet in the hall and half of the lounge (its got to be done in sections cos I have nowhere to put the furniture or anyone to help me move it!!!). Only critisism is that it could do with sucking up a bit more of the water but I think they are all pretty much the same

lol this is what is said on the despatch email
"Vax self propelled 1700w upright bagless vacuum cleaner with 3.2 litre capacity and hepa filtration"

What happened to old thread? I have spent ages looking for it. I thought I had imagined I had bought one of these from bid tv last night.

as there was limited stock of 50, It got expired i think?
#6
Self propelled?/????? does that mean you can switch it on and it does the hoovering all on its own? If so - I'd pay full price for it!!!!!!!!!!! perhaps you could tap in a list somewhere and it will do the whole house

If I get this hoover for £11.94 I'll be more than happy to shove it around the house myself without the power assistance. One frigging cheap hoover!

You got a great deal here. Well done. Have a Vax Rapide Deluxe model for use on our carpet and the dirt it gets up is brilliant.
#9
seem to be going for £59.99 + delivery on fleabay!
#10
TBH the vax uprights we've had have been carp (had two different models - two motor meltdowns), the washer cylinders are built like tanks though.
#11
Mine has been dispatched as well, lets see the look on the faces NOW of the people who voted cold and said we would never get it :-)

They had wrongly listed it as a falling web auction instead of an on TV auction, that is why there was 50, it should have been a falling from £179.99 TV auction and probably sold out at around £60.
I have had a coulple of bargains off them before and they have always honoured them.
#12
Yep, got the despatch email too. I have a Vax carpet washer too which is pretty good. This is ideal for cleaning the cars :)
#13
mines on its way too:w00t:

Mine is on its way too, well done by them for getting it despatched on bank holiday Sunday!

Who originally posted the Vax deal thread please? As I wanted to leave rep but can't find the poster as the thread got closed. Thanks.

Cant wait for mine to come, I still think it was a website miss price should have been starting price of £199 rather than £1.99, as the other auctions for the same hoover (in Dixons for £95 new) are around the £100 mark, all start at £199.

I just wish I could have ordered several, I had a confirmation telephone call from the india call centre :giggle:

Bid TV do this sort of thing every now and then. Not a misprice, they just get shot of a limited number to gain some hits. Seen a few bargains on there over the last year or so.

Mine arrived today, very nice.
A bit pricey at £1.94 but you have to pay for quality :-)

The price is confirmed on the invoice.
Well packed retail box is in another heavyweight outer plain box.

Thanks to the OP and Bid TV

Can someone explaing this please:
https://www.bid.tv/ProductDescriptionPage.aspx?Id=2602744&Cat=6&Sub=15&Type=Categories

Its listed as a "Falling Auction" which means the price goes down till they've all gone. So if I enter £1 in the bid box and click bid now, does that mean I have it?

NO, that is a TV auction, the price drops from the original price on air, until they are sold and then everyone pays the price the last one goes for (around half the starting price) but you can bid a £1 but you will not get one.

We all bought a listing error, they put the vacuum cleaner on the site as a web only auction at the wrong g price, it should have been a TV auction, and would have normally gone for around £70
