Anyone ever dealt with hp support?

I have a laptop within warranty with a faulty battery. Thats all been confirmed, reps happy that that is the fault.

But they won't send the thing out. They keep promising it, but it never comes. They also promise to call back, absolutely promise, but never do.

I don't like to moan about companies, but I've never known a company just blatantly lie over and over. I'm not sure what to do really - this all started in October last year - and still no battery.

I know i could go back to the seller - ebuyer. Contract with them etc, but I'd rather just use what is meant to be the easy way.

Anyway, just wondered if I'm unlucky or HP are like this all the time. Such a simple fix - just send me the damn battery!

how longs the warranty maybe they are dragging their heels so it will be out
#2
I've had to deal with them - 3 times over faulty chargers and 1 time over faulty dvd drive (laptop)

both were sent out for next day delivery and i had to return the original part
#3
I have a compaq laptop and the power supply thingy died last week so called them up - but it was HP on the battery charger so thats who I called

They told me (as laptop was 6 weeks out of warranty) to call chilternitparts.com and would get the part that way. As I didnt have internet access cause battery was now dead, thats what I done and ordered the part for £35.31 delivered.

When i was back online I seen that HP have a shop on Amazon and the exact same part was only £19.99 delivered. I was annoyed !! Surely HP should be directing me to HP !!!!!

1 year... but theres still 4/5 months left on it. Their actions just seem bizarre....

Sent an email to the CEO of hp UK now. Literally not a clue what else to do. It's worked in the past with other companies, so we'll see.

Hmm... don't suppose you know the number you used? I've been using the main hp support line.

Rep on a backhander maybe?

How come you title most of your misc threads with VB1?
#7
If this is a new computer contact ebuyer and tell them the computer battery has failed and as hp refuses to supply another one would they send you another computer and you cannot return the whole machine as you are using it for work.
Ebuyer may be in a position to pressure HP to provide item you need as they will have clout with HP purchasing department.
If not its send it all back time I am afraid

I think i used the business one because aparently the one i bought from ebuyer was business only.

HP Support can be very good. Problem is that departments are scattered all over the world. Most likely the battery is out of stock, of course that is no excuse for not calling you back.

Call their head office switch board and say you would like to speak to customer relations. Make clear to them that you want to complain about poor service, otherwise they will just put you onto the laptop support que Tel: 020 7949 0300

Yeah - like i said, I'm trying to do it the easy way (HP are seemingly quite happy to send the battery out without me having to send anything back before hand), before I resort to going back to ebuyer - who lets face it aren't exactly renowned for their amazing customer service either! :)

Cheers will try this tomorrow. Ususally use the main support number, or the freephone switchboard number found on saynoto0870.

To be honest its my sisters laptop, and I've only just got involved to kick up a stink (its what i do best!), so will definately try that number tomorrow thanks.

ask to speak with a supervisor

ive had a few probs with sony they try n fob me off with a RAID error with a downoad which basically reset the damn thing.......after installed windows 7 it came back saying replace the hard drive asap again

wrote them a snotty email last week and they replied with its out of waranty i registered t in oct 2008, i never did coz it was only bought i feb last year........they bare my emails from getting to them and when ran the support number it just cut me off or went to enter in serial number which then told me to ring premum rate number.

rang sony head office to be asked to be put thru to a supervisor who asked me to send in proof of purchase so i sent bank statement, he the rang back nex day and arranged for it to be collected which it was yesterday

Go through ebuyer, your problem lies with them. Bossyboots I think you got seen off, you could of easily argued that a charger should last more than 1 year under the SOG act.

Don't think so. It looks like Amazon brought all the HP branded products, sold by various Marketplace traders, onto one page.

I was totally lost for information with my laptop having no power. I am definitely going to call them up though - but waiting on someone telling me if that amazon HP shop is a proper HP shop! It looks genuine though, but cause its through amazon thats what confused me!

I used their 'premium' number so maybe as theyre doing me for a couple of pence they decide to send it off.

Tbh if they had sent it off already you'd have received a letter claiming they want the faulty battery back or the money for the price of a new battery, or they'd void the rest of your warranty.

so i think theyre pulling a fast one.

Your contract is with Ebuyer, like you've already been told several times. Personally I've always found Ebuyer CS excellent.

When you write to them, try not to use bold. It makes you look a bit of a div.

I've been told several times, and I've replied several times as well. But clearly the most stupid still aren't getting it.

I am aware that my contract is with ebuyer. If you were capable of reading plain English, you would see its written in the OP. However, hp SHOULD be the easy option. Also as stated, I will goto ebuyer if I have to. Finally, again as stated, I'm not actually interested in your views on what I should do - this thread was to find out if hp support are always this rubbish, nothing more.

Please troll elsewhere - I realise from the other thread you are suffering at work, but please don't take it out on me. Cheers!

Wow. I was merely giving you helpful and accurate advice. Maybe you should ask your IT department what they would do?
banned#27
I'd phone back, ask for a supervisor and be firm but polite.

After 3 months I'd be looking for more than just a new battery - maybe an extended warranty for the amount of time you've had wasted.

Considering I run it, I think I should probably make my own mind up - and yet again, I repeat myself, because you can't understand simple English - I'm asking if anyone else has experienced the same problems with hp, not asking for advice, and certainly not from the likes of you who clearly don't have a clue what's going on around them let alone anyone else.

But ok - "Thanks" for your help, I'll bare it mind, then ignore it.

Yeah that's the plan for today - my sister is a little meek sometimes. I'm not. ;)

Agree re:Apple btw!

And breath.....

I'm sorry you feel that way and humbly apologise for what's clearly a major upset. I shall leave you to calm down, which I hope you do.

PS please don't ignore that advice. (seriously)

No breathing required here guv. It's been made clear both in the deleted posts in other threads, and your rather poor attempt to disrupt this thread that you are having problems at the moment. I respect that, I'm not gonna have a go back, but you really should try and sort things out in your own life first.

I'll get through this - honestly, you worry about yourself son.

I have zero problems at work or elsewhere for that matter. (of course those comments are not meant as insults are they!)

Sorry you feel the way you do.

Good luck with HP though. No hard feelings xxx
