My dads having a BBQ in a few weeks for his birthday, hoping the weather will get better! My mum, dad, brother and his girlfriend all eat meat but me and my hubby don't so my mum is not sure what to make for us, does anyone have any ideas. I was thinking veggies in pitta bread and veggie burgers but anything else?

Barbecue some fruits and caramelise them using a little sugary water and a dash of liqueur. Even the non vegetarians will enjoy these :)
skewer some
Cubed: pinapples, apples, melon, mango and pears
Whole: grapes, strawberries.

Quorn is a good alternative to chicken .....add whatever seasoning you want to them ( so you could have it a curry tikka type flavour with mint yoghurt, or do it mexican with sour cream and salsa and serve with wraps) and put them on skewers with mushrooms, peppers, onions etc...make a salad type thing out of cous cous

get some sweey potato and oil it, this will go niocely on BBQ, as will some of thos elong peppers, stuffed with cooked rice, cream cheese and some chopped mushroooms.
My GF used to be veggie and we had to split the BBQ down the middle this time last year, now she has started to eat meat so all is good :p

Veggie stuff on the BBQ is good, doesnt have to be fake burgers and sausages, lol.

heh I am actually going to cheat and link you to this as its easier :

My one improvement on this recipe would be to use some fresh chilli instead of dried flakes.

You can buy the Paneer from Tesco, its on the bottom shelf with all the unusual type cheeses lol

We always do some haloumi cheese and vegetable kebabs (courgette, tomato, onion, mushroom, peppers etc) - delicious on the BBQ... they are awesome in a pitta with some houmous!

I've started doing baked potatoes to have with BBQs as well, they seem to go down well...

If doing something for veggies then they could make sure there's a nice salad (i.e. mixed salad leaves, avocado, mozzarella, tomatoes, nuts and seeds sprinkled over the top etc with a good dressing), and a decent potato salad (recommend new potatoes, mustard mayonnaise, onions, gherkins all chopped up - never fails to impress).

The quorn sausages aren't too bad, tried one the other weekend at a family BBQ (I'm not veggie though but enjoyed all the same)

Hope this helps.
