Not with a regular drill bit, you will need a glass/tile cutting drill bit

It will look like one of these

Be very careful about drilling into tiles.

Very easy to crack them while doing that.

Be careful about water pipes running behind the tiles.

My suggestion is NOT to rush it but plan it carefully.

Better that than a flooded house.

If the wall is tiled where you are putting then yes you will have to drill through the tiles.

Use a masonary drill at slow speed, put some tape over the place you are going to drill (something like electrical insulation tape) and drill through the tape.

Never tried drilling through tiles myself but have heard that if you put a bit of masking tape on the tile first and drill very slowly it is less likely to crack
Good Luck

You don't need a tile bit, a regular masonry drill bit is fine, just scratch the tile surface to remove the glaze where you are going to drill to prevent it slipping, and don't use hammer action.

Unless it is directly above the sink or bath it's unlikely there are pipes behind the tile. You can buy pipe detectors at B&Q. (assuming they work through tiles)

You can do it with a masonary bit, however the glass bit leave a neater hole and dont require a scratch to start off with. They also have less chance of damage.

Oh and if its directly above the sink/toilet/bath,shower where you want the cabinet, the pipes may run behind the wall here, anywhere else should be OK

True...but most people already have a masonry bit, and a screwdriver to scratch a tile, no need to waste your time and money buying specialist equipment.

Most holes that are drilled in tiles are covered by the appliance being hung, so I personally don't worry about "neatness", just drill slowly without hammer action.

I like to say 'dont make crap, it comes natural', but that would be naughty.

So I'll say, come here then

I'm guessing you are in a lesbian relationship, and you play the "male" role?

It's been a while since anyone has called me "sexy", coming from a carpet muncher, it's even more flattering. :)

I've put loads of things up in bathroom but I always try to make sure my holes go in grout lines so if I change my mind I can just pop a bit of grout in and yo'd never know

I couldn't be anymore masculine than I am, there's so much testosterone pumping through my body, it's quite scary I tell you.

From now on whenever I am drilling, I will think of you. :-D
