thinking of getting my hair chopped off,my hair is like gwyneth paltrows in sliding doors (length wise) and thinking of getting it cut to a similar style that she had done in the film
question is do u think she looked better before or after the cut please?

aint it how it looks on you that counts

i loved her hair in that movie - the after style!

A lot of hairdressers would recomened against such a drastic cut, remember you can take more off, but takes a long time to grow it again!

My hairdresser has always advised me to chop it off in stages, ie, shoulder length, chin length, then a short chop. Also depends on your face shape if you can take your hair that short, and not look like a old woman (old woman tend to go very short!!) x

ive had it in a very short bob few years back and i liked it but i have since been growing it but i dont get the time to do anything with it and i just shove it in a bobble these days,im just thinking it stays tidy when its shorter and i make more of an effort to style it

I think it all depends on the shape of your head and face if a hair cut will "work" or not.

i think i could get away as my face is thin but not too thin,im just worried i will get it done and regret it especially as it has taken me so long to grow it
my hair is quite fine so it hasnt really got any body or style so im thinking it would give it more of a style if it was short
thanks

you should post paltrow pics before and after for some proper advice

not seen films so not sure on hairstyles, i wouldnt be brave enough to go from long to short again, last time i was about 20 and hated it, although after a few days got used to it, also find longer hair far more managable than short

I wouldn't worry at least you are not asking for people of the interwebz for ideas on an imaginary party, I mean why ask friends?

SHort hair will add volume, definately however it needs more styling. I used to have quite long hair and got it cut short about 6 months ago, I love it BUT if you don't have time now to style your hair you won't when it's short. But you tend to be more inclined to as you have to so it always looks nice, rather than just tied up.

didnt like it myself, but i generally dont like short hair on women lol, go for it if u think it will suit you though

Yeah 4 weeks today not keeping bad. I went for a slightly longer version of that haircut a graduated bob like that but not as short. My hair is thick and wavy so I have to straighten it but it looks nice all the time now rather than just clipping it up. Or it taking ages to straighten.Glad I did it, it looks much nicer!
yeah thats what i had done last time and i liked it
im 34 next month so im feeling a bit old for long hair
i think the biggest problem with short hair is when it rains u look awful but if its long and it gets wet it doesnt look that bad

Ahh agreed there, that's why I drive, take a brolly and at least have one jacket with a hood on it so as my hair does not get wrecked X)

I had a short cut like that a couple of years ago, and actually it was really smart. You do need to give it some attention, like straightening after washing your hair, but then I found it looked really polished and would do for quite a few days with minimal attention. I think mine may have been a little bit longer, but not much- jaw length at the front but then graduated-up a bit at the back.

Now I have just let it grow out- mainly because I am lazy about going to the hairdresser- and I am in the same boat as you OP; my hair is long so it just gets tied up unless it's a special occasion or whatever. Then it actually takes quite a while to make it look good, whereas I know the old bob would have been ready after just straightening.

The Gwyneth cut is good; I quite like Frankie from the Saturdays' style as well.
I am growing my hair now as I want it long to style for my wedding pics.

If you like the style go for it; short hair on a woman can look really good. And remember, it will always grow back!
