Vintage Furniture - A Pointer In The Right Direction Please!

Hi All,

Ive been asked by my family to sell 2 pieces of Vintage furniture.

I dont know where to start really. 1 is a large wardrobe, with 2 large bowed doors, made by c.b furnture ltd, the other is a cocktail / side board.

I dont know what wood they are made from nor the age, all I can say is that my Nan & Grandad had them for 40 years and bought them 2nd hand back then.

In the 1st post I attach a few photos that someone can help identify the age, wood and price guide and where I can sell these.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Your best bet would be put an advert in your local paper. I wouldnt put them in an auction, as these go for a couple of £££'s in my local one. The wood is Walnut.

Although the wardrobe looks in good condition, it's the sort of thing you see on Freegle/Freecycle all the time. You might get a nominal amount if you advertise in your local paper, but probably no more than the price of a pint or two.

Walnut Veneers as opposed to solid Walnut. The outside of the front doors would be described as a Walnut Burl Veneer I believe.

You could do eBay or Gumtree and state Collection only (get cash if you do it that way).

Thanks guys for your replies.

Its a shame really that this type of furniture isnt more sort after. Its better quality and probably would last longer than the things from argos etc.

I would keep them if I didnt have built in.

I will probably place on gumtree and state offers if thats allowed.

Couldn't agree with you more about the Argos stuff

Found this on Gumtree may help you with prices.
