when i took 50 meg i was made unaware that i would be paying a month in advance, already went ballistic at virgin when my services got restricted, what it was i was im paying £94ish for 2months but £6 of calls made me go to the credit limit but that £6 is for novembers bill, my £94 (£73) now comes out next week, i got a letter today saying im nearing the credit limit again ffs , apparently my ( shadow credit limit is £80 which if met will result in restricted services again )

my question is ... do virgin throttle 50meg when nearing the credit limit or do they in general throttle 50 meg anyway even though you paid £20 activation so it does not get throttled?

" apparantly when took 50 meg the sales guy "scott btw" said its there policy that when you pay £20 activation they will not throttle the 50 bb and you will always have fast speed not matter what,

cancell it then, they will make you a better offer

Well it does say in the welcome pack that it's monthly in advance. In practice though you use it for a month and pay 2 months at the beginning of the second month.

As for the speed, turn your modem+router off for a few minutes. Should clear it ;-)

im paying the 2months in the 1st month, im an existing customer used to have 10meg, now 50meg,

tried the router modem trick no luck,

do you reckon they throttle the 50meg?

50meg is all over the place mate. Some evenings I get 10meg then 30 seconds later it jumps back to full speed then 20 then 30 etc. Think its more dependant on local load rather than throttling. If you're getting consistently slow speeds though you need to get them to look at it, keep a speed record at speedtest.net.

why 2 months in month 1. they always charge me 1 month in advance.

50mbps is not meant to be throttled at all.
