Virgin Media advice

Okay, my contract is due to end next month.. thought I'd give them a call and 'cancel'. Anyone here have the number for the retentions line? Also.. can anyone advise me on what type of deals I should settle for:

Been a customer for 2 years, currently paying £24 for 2mb broadband, L TV and Evening calls. Obviously I wasnt too happy regarding the 4mb to 10mb upgrade.. wonder what other deals are floating about which I may be able to use to argue my case.

Any help is appreciated.

Zak.

When our telephone and broadband was due for renewal (£25-£30 per month), I tried the normal Customer Service first and got nowhere.

I pressed the relevent button to say I was leaving and was told they could offer me £14 per month for bothwhich I accepted.

Just say loads of companies are mailing you with offers of free broadband/calls etc.

I spoke to their retentions department recently, and got 3 for £35 (Basic Telly, Basic Phone and 20mb Broadband). Although in my honest opinion, I'll never get something to download at 20mbps :?

But at least they are """Unlimited""" in terms of volume you can download, if you ignore the Traffic Management:

However I still think they offer a better deal and service than BT and the other trusty ADSL people.

I went with Sky and they rang me last week saying keep sky but we would like to put Cable back in for £30 for any opther room in your houe ad no charge per month for basic or £1 p.m. for all channels for L:IFE, with just a £30 installation fee, then rang sky told them to take one of their boxes back and they said its ok we will give you the box for half price! - now confussed they are fighting over me...........

Here's a deal for all you Virgin customers.

Phone this number 08000520855 and select option 1 when asked. (V plus offer)

I was already on 4mb for £16pm (i got it klnocked down from £25pm just a few weeks back) and the normal bog standard telephone service.

What i've been given, without having to haggle.

XL 20mb broadband
XL Phone service (quite a few benefits but can't remember them all)
XL TV package of 140 channels (no SKy 1,2+3 though i think)
A V+ box which is better than the SKy plus version.
Another digital box for another room (not V+ but still new).
I have to pay £30 installation and they come on thursday this week!

All for £65 pm. ( I'm paying aprox £58 for everything plus Sky at the moment)

The V+ box is usually £150 but i think they have a deal where you can get it for £75. But of course, i get one of those and another digital box for nothing.

Also to note. I know two people who have taken this offer up. One took it up a few weeks back with the £75 V+ box, and another recieved a letter with the offer above which i also took. I never recieved anything through the post i just rang the number and they were happy to give me the deal without me having to argue. I was already to give them the "i've been with you years and never recieved any offers" and "i've had enough i'm leaving".

So if you're staying with Virgin and paying quite a bit, get in for this offer!
