hi, just had an e-mail from Virgin, is there anything we can do?;

Unfortunately, from 1st April 2012, we're having to change some of our prices to make sure we continue to give you the best home entertainment and services.

What's changing for you.
The cost of your bundle charges will increase by £4.25 a month.

Our evening period for home phone calls will change from 6pm - 6am to 7pm - 7am. We're also making some changes to home phone calling rates and call connect fees. The cost of these changes will vary depending on the call plan you're on. To find out more go to virginmedia.com/changes

I did link to some stuff about this here

It seems to suggest you can cancel but some people have been unable

read the t & c's you agreed to??!!? they should say an acceptable limit to an increase which will answer you're question.. if its over the limit then cancel, if its under than hard luck as you agreed to them

My BeThere line speed appears to have dropped since Xmas from 16.5Mb to 10Mb, so was contemplating jacking them in and getting a 30Mb (soon to be 60mb) line speed connection. Looks like I'll stay put!

Depends on what you want from it, a few TBs a month is easy on VM with no threatening letters.

I'm surprised. I thought they hit you with caps and shaping if you hit 30Gig! To be fair, if I did 200gig a month I'd be shocked.

Only with them for BB, so should be OK. Got rid of their TV 2 years ago and replaced with Freesat in one room and Freeview in the other. Don't feel like I've missed much tbh.

We got our TiVo installed at the end of last month - just called them about the increase and they've knocked my bills down by £2 per month and thrown TiVo in for free!! Plus the 'free' multi-room I got last month. Couldn't be happier!

my bill isnt changing at all - £20.99 for line rental (never use the phone as asda mobile is far cheaper) and soon to be 20mbps BB.

cant complain really as must download about 200GB a month!

Freeview PVR always has more than I can watch on it so no need for TV packages

TV - If you have sky/cable, drop down to Freeview.

Broadband - Depending on your use, drop to a lower speed, or to a limited data allowance package if you use purely to check emails/browse forums and visit news sites etc.

Phone - If you both 2 mobiles and a landline, consider dropping one of these, or cut down to a PAYG tarriff.

Ultimately, it depends what you use and what you have.
