Hi,

Currently I have SKY TV, Sky talk unlimited and SKY max. I want to get 50mb virgin media broadband but I read that you have to take a virgin's line rental as well. If I get virgin's line rental does that mean that I will lose out on sky talk and have to sign up on one of virgins calling packages?

Thanks.

You dont need a vm phone line to get their broadband. But it does reduce the cost.

That's why I am getting it as without a phone line it is £38 a month.

£37 if you take out a phone line, £38 if you dont take the line
and seeing the line is £11 I think

Virgins lines are done by cable bot a BT line so you dont lose anything, however if your happy with your sky phone and so on why change? just get the broadband ay £38 instead of £37 and keep your telephone as it is. Its only £1 difference

You have to get a vm package if you go with them.

You cant use a sky package on a vm line.

If you dont need the line why worry about the extra £1 ?

Thing is I do need the line as we make phone calls all day round so we need an unlimited calls provider.

Seeing as I need unlimited calls I was looking at virgin's call packages and the unlimited one is £8 as opposed to £5 on sky and does not include unlimited calls to european countries. Do virgin not do a cheaper package with unlimited calls?

im thinking of getting 50 meg but on the other hand never use the phone line. Who would use an old fashioned telephone cable when you have 50meg BB and the wonders of VOIP.

I meant if your happy with sky tv, and sky telephone line why change?

You can have virgin internet via cable and keep the sky tv and phone line

I only want the 50mb broadband at the new lower price, however to get it at this price you have to take one of their phone packages.

Personally I got rid of my bt phone line.

I have Sky tv (sky+HD)
Virgin internet on cable
and Vonage for telephone done by VOIP on the virgin cable internet (£7.99 a month for unlimited calls to 15 countries, including UK Ireland USA and Australia)
also if someone recommends you, you get the 1st 3 months free

There are other voip packages,
or if your happy with your sky telephone just keep it, you dont need to take any virgin tv or telephone packages to get virgin internet, it just costs you an extra £1 a month if you have the 50 meg package

Does anyone know how long it would take virgin to install everything if I ordered tomorrow.

Also, does anyone know if virgin are planning on implementing any kind of traffic management or download limits at all in the next twelve months.

Yes

Log onto virgin media http://allyours.virginmedia.com/
select the package you want and go through to where you select the date you want it installed and if you dont want it, just close the page at that point.

As to the other question, Virgin bosses know the answer but they never tell anyone until they are ready, not even their employees so anyone that says definately no, or yes is talking bull.
