Virgin Media V+ Box ..

OK .. my V+ box kept rebooting itself last week so reported it .. today an engineer has replaced it with what he says is the latest box.. its a very nice sylish Samsung one ... while he was here i was asking him about how many boxes i can get in the house etc .. and he said that they are bringing out the same samsung box with HD as a standard box but its gonna be more to rent a week that the V+ box .. he says it dont make sence why ... has anyone else heard anything about it or does anyone here work for Virgin Media that knows about it .. i would be interested in another box in the house and if it has HDMI would be a bonus.. but dont see the point in paying more for that than a V+ box that can record ..

all the v+ boxes are hd. they are bringing out a new hd box without the pvr functionality.

I dont get this, We have had the last 2 days of the V+ box rebooting iself. We had to arrange a guy to come out tonight to sort the problem out but today we havent had no problems so we cancelled the appointment.

Now i have seen others with same problems Im thinking it was just a problem their end and not our box.

But what im thinking is we have only last month had the top box installed, and now there is a new one already, Do you think we should be entitled to the newest one as we only paid the money this past month for the original box? Is it worth it?

ours has been doing it alot too recently might give them a call as i have the old style and looks crap compared o the new one

The engineer just called me back and said they have found its a frequency fault with the ITV channels and the old boxes .. so hes asked me to keep an eye on mine and call him if theres any problems with the new boxes too .. :thumbsup:

I had numerous problems with Virgin boxes. Turns out that it resets itself if the signal level is below a certain amount i.e. 'turn it off and on again'. I argued with virgin as I have a big package with them and they had to do a cable refit lol.
