When you leave virgin they send a big box so that you can put all their stuff in to send back. The seller obviously didnt do this and have been charged for keeping the box and have made the money back selling to you. all you can do is sell it on to someone else!

I assume you could close this thread, wait 7 days and then list on here FS? someone might want another box to replace theirs, could have a faulty one etc

Why would anyone wish to buy a replacement box when Virgin do that for free?

Take it as a lesson learned OP and write your £50 off

don't buy anything that you would use on the virgin media network, because it won't work unless it's directly from virgin media.

luck that VM isn't going to prosecute the seller and the buyer for selling/receiving stolen goods.

When I had Virgin installed 18 mths ago I paid £99 for my box plus installation, surely that makes it my property? I am renting an ordinary box from them as I have multi room.

Nah it is rented but the good thing is when it goes wrong they replace it or repair it for free because it is rented.
