i have been using newsgroups for a few years now and i cant believe i have only just discovered vms own, i have seen others mention them but never looked into them more seriously , after paying x amount of pounds to astraweb and such like im maxing out at 50meg only downside no ssl though happy days l

Okay okay. I'm with virgin media anyway. I do find it quite useful when my sub runs out and then something inevitably comes out 2 days later.

exactly. Astounded that a VM customer would actually download copyrighted material using VMs own newsgroup service.

Just asking to get cut off, I use VM but still pay astra for the SSL aspect.

Though its interesting to see where "but you are hosting these downloads" would get you!

Its good for a freebie and as an introduction to usenet, but no substitute for the real thing. Always makes me chuckle at the "fight club" cant talk about usenet. Its hardly new. I've been enjoying it for at least 12 years now...... its not like everyone in the know doesn't already know about it.
