Visa Debit protection at Alliance and leicester

I'm stating this thread based on advice from another.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/281190/empiredirect-have-stolen-146-off-me

I bought a camcorder from EmpireDirect on the 11th of November and after taking my money (£146) they claim no order was made.

My statement shows the money going out but they (empire) seem unwilling to budge. My Alliance and leicester debit card that I used has the VISA symbol, do I have any kind of protection?

give your bank a ring and tell them you did not receive the goods, as its been over 30 days they sould be able to query it for you as non received goods

sorry don't know, but surely if you can prove via your statement that they took the money then they must see that you did place an order and pay for it?

I faxed a copy of my statement with the transaction highlighted on Saturday but the bloke on the phone today didn't seem optimistic.

I'm wondering what kind of protection my bank will offer me in getting my money back.

seems very odd to me?! if it says on your statement that they have taken the money then it should be obvious to them that they should have sent you something? I'd play up like mad with them, you have proof... ! not sure how you go about taking it further, have you rang your bank?

just ring your bank and give them the date and amount and tell them you did not receive the goods as long as its been over 30 days since the payment was taken they should be able to query it.

you need to report this to trading standards as this isnt the first time, they need a swift kick up there ar5e to get the butt moving and dispatch your goods

btw visa debit cards run a scheme like the credit card scheme, just ring your bank and they can sort it for you

Within the last thirty seconds i've received a phonecall saying that they have found the transaction and will refund my money within the next three days (i'll believe it when i see it).

Unless someone else has Visa Debit issues I consider this thread closed as i'm discussing similar things on another thread and don't wish to clog up the boards.
