Hi anyone out there who has any advice on the easiest way to obtain visas for india. They have recently changed it so that you cannot apply by post. I suspect it means a trip to either the consulate in Birmingham or Embassy in London. There is though mention of certain travel agents that can arrange it for you but not sure which ones and whether they are near to us. (NORTHANTS area)

We have got quite a few in the midlands area that will get the visa for you for a charge but saves you the trouble.You just fill in the forms & give what is required and the rest you leave up to them.Mostly asian travel agents have these services as they have alot of customers requiring visa's for asian countries.Ask around your local travel i think there should be more than 1 about.Good luck & have a safe trip:thumbsup:

No, Postal apps by special delivery are now restored.see;
http://www.hcilondon.net/visa/restoration-of-postal-visa-app.html

There are also "visa Surgeries" where you can take your docs and they'll process it for you for about £10 - dates and location on their website but as your in northants may be bit of a trek.

Whatever you do, dont bother going to HCI London for a Visa. At 7am, there will be 1000+ people queing and those in the front with sleeping bags & blankets. Only 1500 visas are issued every day and the first 750 will get a chance in the morning and the rest will be issued tokens and asked to return at 2pm. Worth paying the agent the little extra :)

Was there on the 6th Nov ;-)

If you were in the first 750.. yes, you'll get a VISA in the morning. Else, you should return at 2pm after getting a ticket.

I got mine at the local Sikh Temple, they run Visa Clinics every two weeks, very simple & cheap, and I got a free curry while I was there.
Give your local temple a ring.
