Visiting London - Help !

Hello, Me and my Girlfriend are visiting London at the weekend and we've not made out minds up about what to do while we are there. (for 2 days )

We are thinking about going to the Camden markets, to the Zoo or theatre. But things seems a bit expensive and confusing . oyster card , travel card?

what would be the best thing to buy for the day, two 1 day travel cards ( i think we're only going in zones 1 and 2 ?) or an oyster card ( 1 card for 2 people )

Could you recommend anything to do whilst in London ?

thanks alot

Yep weekend travel cards and BOGOF tickets will save you £££. Camden market is close to the zoo but nothing special, an ok place to chill if the weathers good.

You don't need to spend cash to see the sites e.g. Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Buck house, Downing St, St James Park and Trafalgar Square are all close together and worth a look

I'll save ya the money on the London Eye- its boring, its slow and you've seen it all after 5 minutes.Paid for fasttrack if only there was a way to get off just as quick!!!

They never ask to see train tickets, just print off the tickets before you leave and blag your way in - I do it all the time. London Aquarium is excellent too. If you fancy a bit of culture all the museums and art galleries are free don't forget. National Gallery is on the top side of Traf Sq and is fantastic.

There are loads of cafes and restaurants at Convent Garden so just muse about and choose what you fancy.

Have you checked groupon for any london meal deals.

Covent Garden, definitely. Then go to the Leicester Square tkts booth and get half-price seats for We Will Rock You or Blood Brothers.

if you get the chance and you love markets, check out Borough Market on Saturday (near London Bridge Tube)

Its the market the Masterchef guys go to, and has some amazing stalls. Bought some lovely chocolate and the best sandwich ever. If you're into cooking, then this is the place to go for all your produce

Sounds interesting. I have tried groupon/kgbdeals/livingsocial/crowdity and not seen anything too great as of yet.

I think it's there most days but beware they charge silly money for their stuff, trust me

buy an oyster card £5 i think

then just put £20 and it will max out at about 8, but you can use it again

if youre never going london again, get a travel card

camden is full of emos goths and druggies

zoo is nice, but make a day of it

Also these guys, http://www.sockmobevents.org.uk/unseen-tours , walking tours but the guide is one of London's homeless, i went on the one in the London Bridge/Southwark area and was very good.
