Esta, a visa waiver application that many visitors are required to submit before travelling to the US. The choices include platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, and additional space for applicants to input their account names on those sites.

If you are so appalled with the country and their immigration policies, don't visit?

I assume if you don't use any of those networks, you will probably be denied entry then?

Not that I care, I don't want to go anyway.

So what if you don't have a presence on any social media whatsoever?

Wise move, allows the authorities to check for any pro-Isis / anti-west slur that may be on the profiles.
Trump is impressing me more and more each day :)

Is this posted to suggest that the present administration came up with the idea? Apparently it was suggest in June 2016.

I'm sure if needed US Dept. of Defense can get whatever info they want about you from the MoD so I wouldn't worry too much about an optional field.

I can understand that, since it is the very best house in the U.K.

Fred will get banned from entering Palestine at this rate

This is a bit of old news, it has been done (with a bit less fanfare) for a few years now. They also ask (and get) banking info, phone records and lots of other stuff no one will tell you about.

The reason I wont go there again, everyone trying to enter for any reason is treated like a criminal (but with fewer rights to privacy).

Not so easy, they can eventually but access needs application and verfication and authorisation, this way is a faster access method.

Absolutely, but I would consider it to be odd for anyone to be paranoid about US officials looking for a public online profile that they have willingly put out there, after filling out the rest of the form with name and address for both themselves and next of kin amongst other personal details, and then filling out the customs declaration on arrival stating where you are staying and for how long.

No, just finger prints, body scans and take your shoes off and get frisked.

I think the application also asks if you have been involved in terrorism, genocide etc. Always wondered if anyone every ticks yes in these fields.

can't imagine why, terrorists have never operated in USA!

Lot of terrorist funding by the yanks especially in the 1980s, although they don't like to be reminded of that.
I remember seeing a bucket being passed around a New York pub "for da boys with da erm erm erm football injuries back home" It wasnt hard to guess where that money was headed.

you think supporting IRA is any less admirable - I see it as equally evil - Sinn Fein is just the front for terrorists, those same buckets were passed around pubs in London, doesnt legitimise IRA or mean the English supported the IRA?

Would be simple to a doughnut such as yourself. But people that went on holiday or out of the country cannot be united with their families becuase they are being stopped at the airport. I just gave it in simple words but I don't expect you to understand how much distress and how unlawful it is.

you seem to like calling people doughnuts, I won't take offence, more a term of endearment.
would you care to put it simply, so people like me can understand, how many people who went out of the country have been refused entry back in?
perhaps you can use your intellectual abilities to find out and let me know instead of attempting to insult those who don't understand in the same way as your good self.

So the president can't get back in and most world leaders can't visit then.

What? Miss a perfect opportunity to create up to six accounts with suitable usernames that can be used to relay a rude message on the form?

Amateur! ;)
